Hi, I'm Jan Prendergast, and it's a great pleasure for me to help you and your business succeed!  After passing the CPA exam and working in accounting for many years, I understand the Big Picture as well as the details.  I've done the full array of accounting and bookkeeping tasks, lots of it at the Financial Controller level.  Some of this was in companies whose goal was to make a profit, and some was in non-profit companies with a different goal.  There were small, medium and large companies of various kinds.  The thing I loved most was teamwork with my bosses, providing the clean data they needed to make wise decisions, and then watching them lead the company forward and grow the business.  

These days I love caring for my own clients' books and records, and I want to make it easy for you to run your business without the added headache and distraction of also handling the bookkeeping.  No matter the size of your company or the condition of your accounting records, I can get the data organized for you and set up your books so it'll be much easier going forward.  Unless you need extensive catch-up and corrections work done or are a larger company, I can usually keep your books correct and up-to-date with only about 10 hours of work per month.  This saves you lots of money and time, particularly if you can't afford to hire a full-time bookkeeper and pay for their benefits and payroll taxes.  

You need your sales and cost data to be right, and you need your financial data to be organized properly so you can find what you need when you need it.  Each month I'll be correctly categorizing your expenses, reconciling your bank statements and credit cards, and providing you with your own detailed financial information in report format.  I'll make sure to go over the information with you and answer any questions you may have.  That way you can monitor exactly how your business is doing, set good goals, have clean records for year-end tax filing, and prevent costly problems.
